Innovation Lions 2018: full shortlist + all case studies
Read
Not so long ago I had the opportunity to be in Cannes, where you could still feel the atmosphere of the last edition of the film Festival De Cannes. However, in June, the town, the promenade – and above all – the beach is taken over by the advertising industry, which annually celebrates its festival – Cannes Lions Festival. During its lifetime, apart from sipping the famous rosé wine, there is the Golden Lions Gala, the most important awards appreciating creativity and innovative approach of the creators of advertisements.
This year, there are 27 categories in the competition, one more than last year. A decision was made to replace the Product Design category with two new categories: Entertainment Lions for Sport and Creative Strategy Lions. As always, the list of the nominees is announced gradually, however at the very beginning the shortlist that for me is of the most interest – the Innovation Lions award – has been published. It arouses my greatest interest each year mainly because very often projects within this category concern large social problems, and submissions are the first signals of attempts to solve them.
According to the annual tradition, and this will be the fifth time, I am publishing today a list of all case studies of this year’s Innovation Lions nominations. This year, 25 concepts from around the world compete for the title of the most innovative project. The winner will be announced on June 20 during the Innovation Lions gala, preceded by presentations of projects before the jury.
My absolute favorite this year? Definitely Volts By Volvo. This is a service developed on the Belgian market, which is a unique (and already functioning) global contract for the supply of electricity to the home, derived exclusively from wind farms and solar panels. I recommend case studies a few scrolls below.
For a better understanding of What3Words, take a look at the following video. Submission this year is a development of the service with voice functionality.
